Microsoft's new "Expressions Web 2" software looks and feels like FrontPage. Their earlier version was OK but the second version seems to have addressed all of my reservations about Microsoft's FrontPage replacement. Although it does cost money to buy Expressions Web 2 - it is well worth it if you need to switch from FrontPage so that you won't be stranded by Microsoft again. The Expressions Web 2 program is compatible with all servers and does not have to use FrontPage extensions like Frontpage did. IIf you have a FrontPage website - please get this program and convert your site to the unversal hosting version of "Expressions Web 2" software.
Some of you are asking how does Expression Web 2 stack up against Dreamweaver CS4. Here is my opinion.
Neither DreamWeaver or Expressions Web have an equivalent to FrontPage Extentions. If you had used FrontPage Extensions for the Navigation menu then you need to do it a different way. ExpressionsWeb 2 has and equivalent that doesn't need FrontPage Extensions.
Dreamweaver CS4 is great but it almost requires a university diploma in that program to effectively use it. Dreamweaver seems to aimed at people with a lot of times on their hands or people who really like to bill by the hour in a big way.
Microsoft Expression Web is much more powerful than FrontPage ever was but it is as task oriented as FrontPage was and will be a natural step for anyone familiar with FrontPage.
